The 2023 Prompt Nominations Post: "Oh, I thought you might have a few ideas..."
As discussed, we're playing challenge-style, and we'll nominate and elect 3 prompts (maximum 30 words each) to share. Each story (minimum 500 words) must use at least one elected prompt.
About prompts
Any member of the FKFicFest community on Dreamwidth can share prompts. Anyone can join the community at any time. Nominations are not a commitment to write.

About prompts
- Definition: For our challenge-style game, a prompt is a word, phrase, sentence, question, stanza, etc. meant to inspire an FK story.
- Success: We'll likely get the most from prompts that can flex across different interpretations of FK, while also being specific enough to spark reactions.
- Limits: 1-30 words. If a prompt is a quotation, include a citation (not part of the word count). And, of course, please, no vulgarity, incivility, that kind of thing.
Any member of the FKFicFest community on Dreamwidth can share prompts. Anyone can join the community at any time. Nominations are not a commitment to write.
How to nominate & elect
- Nominate (March 31 - April 15): Reply to this post with up to 3 prompts you'd like in the game. (You can post all 3 in one reply, or each in its own reply.)
- Vote (April 16 - 22): On the to-be-posted poll, number all the prompts from your most to least favorite.
- Calculate & announce (April 22 - 23): I'll take care of this part. Any prompt that gets 25% of the 1st-place votes outright wins one of our 3 slots. Then, the prompt with the fewest 1st-place votes is eliminated, redistributing its votes to what was the 2nd-place preference of its voters. Repeat until 3 prompts each have 25%+ of the votes (or only 3 prompts remain). Break ties by comparing 2nd-place votes, or lower, if needed.

Thank you for the prompts!
I'm afraid that, in fairness to everyone, and especially those who have already nominated, I have to point out that we officially have a "1-30 words" range for the prompts (see the post above). I believe that the Herbert quotation clocks in at 53 words. Might you be interested in trimming it a little? If not, you can replace it!
Here are just a few possible trims, in case you would like one of them, or to use as a starting point for a better one:

Here is a prompt idea: Give any episode a different ending.
Welcome!
Thank you for the prompt! If you feel like it, feel free to share up to two more by April 15. (I'm still pondering my own for this round.)

A couple more prompts:
Vampire turns human.
And from my favorite Roman poet, best know for his love poems and sick burns:
"I HATE and I LOVE. Why I do this, you may ask.
I don't know. But I feel it and it is torture." - Catullus (poem 85)

Which 3 of these 4 would you like best?
We set a maximum of 3 nominations per person, up to 30 words per prompt (not counting the citations). Which of these 4 would you like to nominate...?

(My fail: The "3 each" limit is only down in the "How to," while it should also have been up in the "Limits" and intro. I'll do better next year.)

Re: list
I'm guessing that this is your ballot, and you want me to count it as part of the voting on the election poll post.
In that case, I am going to copy/paste your post from here over to there, so that I don't forget it when it's time to tally the results.
Thanks!
Re: list
It crosses my mind that people might not feel super great about seeing the prompts they submitted get low ratings from anyone. With the regular poll, only I see the person-by-person results, so hopefully no one will feel bad about reactions to their prompts.
