Countdown: Five days to FKFicFest '25 due date
Sometime this week, give or take syndication schedules, is the 29th anniversary of the first airing of "Last Knight," the Forever Knight finale. (I usually count it as May 18, but it could have been any time that week in each local market.)
How odd and amazing that we're still here, enjoying FK and appreciating each other.
This year's stories come due on Saturday, May 24 in our AO3 queue. Check the rules and steps.

I drove two states over to go to a Last Knight 'party' for the first airing. Unfortunately, the spoiler list was right, but it was great to watch in the company of others and put some faces to those I only knew on the internet.
Crazy to think back on it all!
29 years, good gravy
Thank you for the reminder of the watch parties. I didn't go to one, but of course I knew people on list who did.

Did we ever figure out if this is what James Parriott intended all along, or if was concluded that way because he was angry?
Anyway, it started me writing as well. I'd never written a word of fiction until LK. So it did have a positive side.

I don't think it was ever learned whether he had an original ending vision in mind from the start. He might well not have. That wasn't really how TV series worked back then in the US, of course, when the idea for Nick Knight > Forever Knight first came to him and his writing partner; the professional hope was always that shows would continue forever and ever, raking in steady money for their networks.
