Thank you, everyone who replied to the poll! We earned 9 total responses.
In brief, let's play again this year! Yay! And, as we did last year, we'll set a minimum participation threshold: with 9 or more players, we'll play exchange-style; with 8 or fewer, we'll play challenge-style. Either way, can you muster up some friends to join in?
-----
What's up with the challenge-style contingency?
In a story-exchange game, writers and story requests get matched 1-to-1. In a story-challenge game, each writer interprets a shared prompt through the lens of his or her own preferences. So far, FKFicFest has always played exchanges. Back on FKFic-L, we always played challenges.
FKdom is full of passionate disagreements about fundamental interpretations of the show. We not only all like different things in our show, we all believe different things about it. The fewer the players, the harder the matching. The harder the matching, the more likely a mismatch hurts someone. To play an exchange successfully, we need enough players.
Like last year, we'll plan on an exchange game, but I'll set a fallback challenge prompt (something like "unexpected temptation" or "gone too far"). Last year's was "worth it" (see the 2015 contingency steps and examples).
If challenge-style had been the consensus, I would have opened nominations and voting for the common prompt. But as it's only a contingency, I'll supply it.

2016 Tally
1) Should we play in 2016?
2) Would you *write* in FKFicFest 2016?
3) Would you *read* in FKFicFest 2016?
4) What should be our *minimum* story length? (Series and "5-Things" adding up to the total are fine.)

6) At what *rate* should our stories release?
7) Should we play an *exchange* or a *challenge*?
8) Exchanges need enough players to match interests. How many *players* (minimum) would we need for a successful FK *exchange*?
9) What's the best *duration* between assignments sent and stories due?
10) When is *BEST* to have stories due?
11) When is *WORST* to have stories due?
12) Must we continue cross-posting on both DW and LJ, or can we go DW-only?
13) Will you help spread the word about this year's FKFicFest?
Please watch this space for a specific announcement of dates and duration. And please let me know what you think. Thank you!
