We're playing challenge-style in our 2022
fkficfest game. Yet many of us love gifting! Some writers find reader requests inspiring.
Let's have optional treating. That is:
Important: Any FK fan may share a request (not only people planning to write). No writer is obliged to fill any request. Every
fkficfest story must use at least one of the common prompts. Recipients should acknowledge any stories gifted to them.
Letting someone write a story for you could be a gift from you!

Let's have optional treating. That is:
- No matching. No claiming. No promises.
- If you, as a reader, would like to let a writer perhaps gift you a story in this year's game...
- Reply on this post with what kinds of things you like to read.

Brightknightie's reader request 2022
Date: 3/27/22 05:16 pm (UTC)1. Some preferred characters: Nick, Urs, Schanke, Tracy, Janette, Stonetree, Feliks, almost any canonical one-shot mortal character (like Lisa, Rebecca, Emily, Magda, Bernice, etc.)
2. Some preferred relationships: Gen tends to be my favorite, often with powerful friendships or a work-focused angle; for romance, I particularly like Nick/Urs (as stronger for each other than either alone), and separately also enjoy Nick/Janette (as witnesses to each other's truths), and I don't at all mind Nick/Natalie as long as it's unresolved longing or after Nick achieves humanity (but vampires and mortals who care about each other should definitely keep their physical distance so no one kills/dies or zombiefies)
3. Some preferred themes, tropes & elements: I love the way history, mystery, metaphysics, and morals come together in FK. First season, where Nick is free of Lacroix and striving toward a bright — if distant and always imperiled — future is my favorite. I especially love stories with the tone of first season, full of strong contrasts, but trending toward hard-earned hope and light, and grappling with humanity and the philosophy of grace/redemption and a meaningful life. The metaphors were strong in first season (and the vampires were few). I like stories where Nick is working toward his distant goal of regaining humanity, perhaps getting blocked, tired, or off track from his efforts, and having to try again, but concluding in the end that it's worth trying again. I love "the girl or the cup"-type scenarios where he has to give up a means to mortality to choose a higher humanity. I like procedurals that dish up a metaphor or moral. Tragedy is good, too. And history!
4. A few disliked themes, tropes, or elements, if any: Please no pro-evil or pro-vampire interpretations. No need to exceed a PG-13/TV14 rating. No non-con, dub-con, or power discrepancies (adult/child, mentor/student, boss/employee, maker/convert, etc.). And please no mpreg, omega, or "crackfic."
5. Some preferred crossovers, if any: Crossovers don't tend to be my favorites. But if you happen to be the writer born to cross FK with Young Blades or Mercy Street or Rurouni Kenshin...? Or Journey to the West? Dungeons & Dragons (cartoon, 1983)? Grantchester, Endeavour, Call the Midwife?
6. Scenarios/Dear Author Letter, if any: https://brightknightie.dreamwidth.org/363860.html#fk
Thank you!
