When to nominate: By Thursday, March 7, 10pm Pacific Time.
Who may nominate: All FK fans! Readers as well as writers are invited to nominate and vote! Nominations are not a commitment to play.
How to prompt:
- Definition: For our game, a prompt is a word, set of words, phrase, sentence, question, stanza, etc. meant to inspire an FK story.
- Success: We'll likely get the most from prompts that can flex across different interpretations of FK, while also being specific enough to spark reactions.
- Limits: 1-30 words. If a prompt is a direct quotation, include a citation (not part of the word count). And, of course, please: no vulgarity, incivility, that kind of thing.
- Nominate (March 2 - March 7): Reply to this post with up to 5 prompts you'd like in the game. You may post all in one reply, or each in its own reply. You may recycle unused prompt nominations from previous years.
- Rank (March 8 - March 11): On the to-be-posted poll, number all the prompts from your least to most favorite. This "seeds" the bracket match-ups.
- Eliminations (March 12 until done): Each day, on a to-be-posted poll, for as long as they last, identify your preferred prompt in each eliminations match. When only 4 prompts remain, we have our pool!

Re: Byes
Date: 3/2/24 05:05 pm (UTC)Personally, I'd be thrilled to see mine get another chance -- especially if it meant I could finish a fic that I'd been unable to finish the first time.
(Although, with the fest schedule, I'm unlikely to be able to participate, so please don't make decisions thinking otherwise.)

Date: 3/2/24 10:43 pm (UTC)While I do think it's a great idea and could work at another time, I do see why you wouldn't want to add in another variable in the middle of your already-planned system. But no need to! You can keep it in mind for another year - if you'd like to do it!
