Now that we've chosen our prompts (read the results), today brings this completely optional reader-request gifting post. Tomorrow, expect the rules/gameplay post. Then, I'll start posting promos to the usual communities.

We're playing challenge-style in our 2024 fkficfest game. Yet many of us love gifting! Some writers find reader requests inspiring and love to delight specific recipients.

Therefore, we have optional treating. That is:

• No matching. No claiming. No promises.
• If you, as a reader, would like to let a writer perhaps gift you a story in this year's game...
• Reply on this post with what kinds of things you like to read.

Important: Any FK fan may share a request (not only those planning to write). No one is obliged to pick up a request. Every story, gift or not, must use at least one of the common prompts. Gifting authors should intend to delight their gift recipients. Gift recipients should acknowledge stories gifted to them.

If you happen to want to aim a story in my direction, here's how to do it. :-)

Some preferred characters: Nick, Urs, Janette, Schanke, Tracy, Lisa, Rebecca, Tawny, Magda, Grace... first-season Natalie...

Some preferred relationship types: canonical, friendship, monogamous; Nick/Urs, Nick&Urs, Nick&Janette, Nick&Feliks, Nick&Natalie, Nick&Schanke, Nick&Natalie&Schanke, Nick/Janette, Urs&Janette, Nick&Stonetree, Nick&Cohen, Nick&[OriginalCharacter]... Nick/Natalie only if it's unfulfilled or they're both human or both vampires...

Some preferred themes, tropes & elements: power of friendship, good guys being good, goodness overcoming evil at great cost, choosing to strive for the right even when it's unreachable, self-sacrifice for the good, "the girl or the cup"-style choices, relationships (all kinds) that have each other's backs and make each other stronger, story-level metaphors and parallels (like vampirism representing a real-world issue, or cases aligning with character developments), mysteries, history... and I actually enjoy thoughtful tragedy and character death (including my favs) as long as we have a survivor to remember them.

A few disliked themes, tropes, or elements: pro-evil, pro-vampirism, NC-17, grimdark, unalloyed despair, bigotry, anti-religion, mentor/student (maker/convert), PWP, far distance from canon's mechanics (like mpreg, omegaverse, etc.)...
