Thank you for selecting our prompt pool! Twelve community members picked our five prompts, of which each story must use at least one:

• found among the second-hand books


• I'm going to tell you something that you don't want to hear.

• The antique hairbrush still held tangles of fine golden hair.


• a lucky break, a chance meeting, and a friend in need

We had 32 nominated prompts! And just because a great prompt didn't make the final cut doesn't mean that it can't inspire a story this year (alongside one of the winners, naturally). FK fandom preferences are always so incredibly diverse. Whether we're each here for the police procedural, historical fiction, vampire horror, psychological drama, urban fantasy, science fiction, or metaphysical metaphor... we're all here, together. Yay, us! Yay, FK!

Soon, I'll put up our all-in-one-place rules/gameplay post. [Addendum: Here it is!] We're on our way! Stories — of at least 500 words — will come due by the end of May 24. They'll start releasing on May 26. (Folks may post to our AO3 collection or DW community. If you choose DW, I'll have a template for you.)
